Beach and Surfing
Machrihanish beach is a beautiful long sandy beach running to Westport. It won the Encames Seaside Award in 2004 and has been included in the Martine Conservation Society, Good Beach Guide 2005.
The Gauldrans beach, is a sheltered beach with numerous rock pools and plenty of rich sand and great for youngsters to play in. Located just past Uisaed Point.
Surfing
Surfing can be good with the swell in the right conditions which can vary quite a lot. It is best to be prepared for all eventualities by taking both surfboards and windsurfing equipment along with you.
